Diffusion of our Association

Campaign of Promotion of the Donation of Organs

The Association, in this campaign, bases his performances on the need to promote the solidarity of the society for donation of organs and textiles, like way that saves lives.

This Campaign and all the Actions of Information and Diffusion attacks the Association, they are framed in the philosophy of the actions of the Plan Strategic National for the reduction of the denials to the donation, pass in 2002 and whose validity will extend until 2008. The Campaign "Lengthens the life, donates your organs", promoted by the ONT, it is one of these actions.

With the Actions of Information and Campaign to raise public awareness of the Campaigns of Promotion of the Donation of Organs, ATCA raises the following targets:

  • To contribute to the increase of the number of donors in Andalusian territory.
  • To raise the level of campaign to raise public awareness and the solidarity of the Andalusians as regards a topic of vital importance for the advance of a society, as it is that of the donation of organs.
  • To overcome the vision merely academicista of the Health to favor his integration between the population in general and to encourage united commitments before the Donation of Organs.
  • To improve the quality of life of the patients who are in waiting-list.
  • To consolidate the lines of work and the narrow collaboration developed with the Sectorial Coordinating committee of Transplants of the University Hospital Virgin of the Dew of Seville.
  • To strengthen the bases of coordination and collaboration with the public and private entities that work in favor of the integral attention of the transplanted ones of heart in Andalusia.
  • The Central Messages that preside at the Actions of Information and Campaign to raise public awareness of ATCA try to affect in the individual and collective responsibility opposite to the organs donation and they are based, between others, following:
    • The factor that limits the decrease of the waiting-lists of recipients is the NUMBER OF DONORS.
    • The transplants GIVE THE LIFE, improve the quality of life and help to the social and familiar integration of the transplanted patients.
    • In Spain there are thousands of patients who wait for a donation.

The principal recipients of these Actions are: the population in general like potential organs donors; media of social communication; educational community; entities of transplanted of heart of Andalusia and of state ambience; publications specialized on the subject of health; organizations representative of recognized trajectory in the sector of the transplants and of the information dissemination as the ONT; university community, etc...

Between the diffusion activities, we emphasize two for relevancy and his effect multiplier between the Sevillian society: the Bethlehem of the Solidarity and the Day of the Donor, celebrated annually.

The Bethlehem of the Solidarity

"A transplant is another birth"

The Bethlehem, initiative of four Associations of Transplanted of Seville – Kidney, Liver, Fibrosis Quística and Heart - and of the Coordinating committee of Transplants of Seville, arises with three fundamental premises, as affirms Dr. Pérez Bernal in his article about this activity, of the book "Updates in Transplants 2004", edited by the Commission of Transplants:

  1. To report that THE SOLIDARITY SAVES MANY LIVES
  2. To transmit the message "A Transplant is another Birth"
  3. To enjoy the culture belenística of the city.
The Bethlehem settles in a privileged enclave, the Convent of Closing ceremony of Santa Rosalía, in the old town of Seville. The access is free. All the persons who take care of the Bethlehem and report about the donations and of the Donor's Card they are transplanted.

With the edition and diffusion of an explanatory leaflet, a Cartel announcer and a wide participation in press, radio and television, the transplanted persons explained the motive and the targets of this initiative.

Day of the donor

For the second consecutive year, the DAY OF THE DONOR, National Campaign of Diffusion, was celebrated on the first Wednesday of June.

The National Organization of Transplants stipulates one day a year as DAY OF THE DONOR, circumstance to which they subscribe them Associations of Transplanted to receive the social attention of the mass media, radio, press and television, in order that it involves the society in the donation of organs and the transplants.

With this motive, the Associations we intervene in different activities organized in this date, as there is the active presence of persons transplanted in tables exhibitors placed in strategic points of the city like hospitals, shopping centers and town hall, to report, to make aware with our experiences and with the material support of the informative triptyches and the donor's cards.

At the time of spreading this material, a message that this day emphasizes is the reminder on the importance of communicating to the relatives the express will to be a donor, in addition to bearer of the donor's card.

International day of the voluntariado

This association takes part annually in all the activities that are summoned owing to the celebration of the International Day of Voluntariado, along with other associations which characteristic is that of promoting the participation of voluntary persons.

Day of the heart

Campaign of conferences, publication and information in collaboration with the Federation of Cardiac Patients of Andalusia, that culminates in the assembly hall of the H.U. Virgin of the Dew with a cardio-healthy breakfast, and information about different processes cardiológicos and his possible treatments, presented by different cardiologists of the hospitals of the capital.
